About Me

 I received my Bachelor's of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology from California State University, Sacramento and my Master’s in Communication Disorders- Speech Language Pathology option from California State University, Fresno. I was employed by the Fresno County Office of Education for 12 years where I worked with children and young adults from preschool to post high school programs. I served a range of multi-cultural students from regular education classrooms to programs for students with severe disabilities. I served students in Headstart programs, participated on an in-home preschool assessment team, and was part of a startup team to establish a preschool program for students on the autism spectrum. During this time, I received specialized training in many areas including the SCERTS model program, The Hanen Program: It Takes Two to Talk, More Than Words, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Visual Strategies for Improving Communication. 

Since moving to the Redding, CA area I have worked primarily with adults with communication disorders, cognitive deficits, and/or swallowing deficits for 9 years. I worked within Skilled Nursing Facilities and in the Home Health field. I love connecting with individuals and sharing part of their life’s journey. My job as a Speech Therapist allows me the unique opportunity to help individuals gain access or restore access to communication. Every individual is unique, so every client brings new discoveries and an opportunity to learn together.   

Most recently, I worked for 5 years at a nonprofit here in Redding with a focus on Assistive Technology (AT) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). I have had the opportunity to work with clients with a wide range of speech communication abilities, including those using Speech Generating Devices. It has been a joy to once again work with young clients as well as adults. 

With the closing of the nonprofit, I am continuing my professional journey by privately serving clients in the Redding area. I look forward to using my years of experience to tailor therapy programs specific to each client's needs.
