Services Provided

Traditional Speech Therapy Services include the following:

• Assessment of speech articulation, fluency, voice and receptive/expressive language skills.
• Written report
• Individualized treatment goals for therapy.
• Therapy sessions creatively geared towards age or ability levels.

Specialized Services for individuals using Speech Generating Devices (SGD) or Augmentative or Alternative Communication (AAC) methods (for individuals already possessing a device):

• Assessment of skills and areas of need.
• Individualized treatment goals.
• Therapy sessions creatively geared towards using their device.
• Education with family and caregivers on device use and customization.

Assessment for a medically funded AAC system (for individuals seeking a device):

• Screening assessment of communication deficits and skills necessary to qualify for AAC device
• Trials with a device if necessary
• Evaluation of a client’s ability to functionally use a device (trails with a device if necessary)
• Written report for medical insurance evaluation purposes and funding packet completed and submitted to company of purchase

Services for new device users:

• Assistance with device set-up and programming
• Education and training for client, family and/or caregivers
• Therapy sessions creatively geared towards using their device
